The project will require an area of around 226 hectares.

Bareksa.com - The nation’s first and largest public-private partnership project, the 2,000 megawatt Batang coal-fired power plant in Central Java, faced another delay, prompting its operator, Bhimasena Power Indonesia, to declare force majeure on Tuesday, according to a statement from Adaro Power.

Quoted from Jakarta Globe, Adaro Power owns a 34 percent stake in Bhimasena Power Indonesia (BPI). It said the difficulties in acquiring land for the project remained the biggest hurdle.

J-Power and Itochu, both Japanese firms, own a 34 percent and a 32 percent interest in the consortium, respectively.

The statement said the consortium had acquired more than 85 percent of the land needed for the project as well as obtaining approval for its environmental impact assessment (Amdal) and other necessary permits.
