Bareksa.com - Indonesia's consumers were slightly less optimistic in June about the country's economy than during the previous month, a Bank Indonesia survey showed
on Thursday.

The survey's consumer confidence index was 116.3 compared with the May reading of 116.9. A reading above 100 indicates that consumers in general are optimistic.

The survey of 4,600 households in 18 major cities in the archipelago showed that consumers were less optimistic over job availability, punctuality of durable goods purchase and income.

Price pressures are expected to ease in September as goods demands and supply are back to normal after the Eid al-Fitr holidays at the end of the Islamic fasting month.

However, price pressures are expected to increase in December bolstered by high demands for year-end holidays as well as decreased government subsidies, especially for electricity
tariffs.
