Pro-democracy protests will mark the anniversary of Hong Kong's return to China

Bareksa.com - Tuesday July 1 is a public holiday in Hong Kong but it will be anything but quiet here, or across the region.Thousands of people are expected to take to Hong Kong's streets to push for the right to elect their own leader directly.A recent unofficial referendum on electoral reform yielded over 780,000 votes or about one tenth of the population with the majority asking for more democracy in defiance of Beijing.The pro-democracy "Occupy Central" movement has worried some businesses based in the financial services hub.
