Smartfren plans to sell mandatory convertible bonds to refin

Smartfren also plans to extend its fiber-optic cable network to 13,000 kilometer from 9,345 km last year.

The Jakarta Globe - Smartfren Telecom, an Indonesian mobile phone operator, plans to sell mandatory convertible bonds to refinance Rp 4 trillion ($336 million) in debt that matures this year and next year, finance director Antony Susilo said on Friday.

“We plan to sell mandatory convertible bonds to finance the settlement of Rp 4 trillion in debt and working capital,” Antony said during a public announcement.
